A Delightful Opening Day!
Indeed, a delightful opening day at the market it was! Such a pleasure to get reacquainted with our loyal vendors and visitors, and to meet and greet all the new ones. In the weeks to come there will be more vendors returning for the 3rd season of the market, especially as the produce starts coming in from the gardens, and as usual there were the requests for the old favorites; fresh eggs, flowers, soy candles, herbs, and so much more. Big hits today were Dawn's goats milk soap, Colin's fresh baked bread from the Brandon House (hot out of the oven folks!), the beautiful hand woven necklaces from the ladies ministry at Trinity Church, and Miss Ruby's Herbs from Stacey's. We look forward to having these items becoming regulars at the market along with a new partnership with the Ladies in the Outdoors group. I can't tell you how intrigued I am with thise group of ladies...come and learn more. A special thanks Jim, Hugh, Jeff, and Mr Robinson for helping to set up, and the hot dog lunch as an appreciation for the vendors and shop owners. We have lots of fun and interesting activities planned next week for the kids and "big kids" too, as we celebrate Earthday in our own little way. Learn how to make a homemade pot and sunflower planting, 'Pizza to grow" kits, "Clean Up America" Awareness, and plastic bottle cap recycling collection for the "Art after School" Mural project any shape, size, color). Future events will incude a Safety Awarness day, Master Gardeners Clinic, Ask A Chef cooking demonstration, Health Fair and Outdoor Adventures, and more. Please stop by and say hi, and see what the market has for you, or how you can contribute to the market, but most of all come and ENJOY!
